Journey of Purification and Initiation

April 20 – April 24 Tepoztlán and Amatlán de Quetzalcóatl

Departing Mexico City’s International Airport, we journey to the sacred and mystical Valley of Tepoztlán. This is a magical land, still holding it’s ancient beauty and allure. The Sacred Valley is a place of unparalleled beauty and serenity for those interested in exploring deeper. With its calming streams and dense vegetation, it’s no wonder this has long been considered a place of spiritual significance.

The village of Tepoztlán is where time seems to have stood still and has a reputation for mysticism and spirituality. Tepoztlán is about 1,700 meters (5,500 ft) above sea level. Tepoztlán is well known for being a spiritual center where energy and mysticism converge. Because of this, the energy here is perfect to support our personal work and transformation.

Most importantly, a healing energy is attributed to the town and valley, owing to the legend that it is the birthplace of Ce Acatl, later known as Topiltzin Ce Acatl Quetzalcóatl which means “who was born here in Tepoztlán.” However, the adjacent community of Amatlán de Quetzalcóatl was the precise birthplace of Quetzalcóatl.

History can date this area back to 1500BCE.  It is known to be the second most spiritual mountain range, Machu Picchu being the first. It has also been stated that Tepoztlán has the highest number of UFO sightings in the world. These sacred mountains hide various Otherworldly messages that are waiting to be discovered and deciphered.

During our stay in Tepoztlán we will do a day trip to Xochicalco, an ancient city. Xochicalco is the Nahuatl name, meaning “in the place of the house of flowers.”  The city’s mountaintop position is thought to reflect ceremonial importance, rather than a purely defensive need. The site is also famous for an astronomical observatory in a cave accessed through a rock staircase.

At the Acropolis we discover the most important and most visually stunning of Xochicalco’s temples: The Temple of the Feathered Serpent.

This amazing temple was built alternating flat and sloped sections, popularized in Teotihuacán. Carved into the temple’s base are eight plumed serpents representing Quetzalcóatl. A glyph contains the date 9 Ojo de Reptil, Quetzalcóatl’s birthday.

The Temple of the Feathered Serpent has fine stylized depictions of that deity in a style which includes apparent influences of Teotihuacán and Maya art. We will spend time meditating/spiritual journeying at this special sacred temple. Afterwards we will descend into the observatory cave for a guided journey to the Underworld.

Caves were seen as primordial places of birth for humankind. They were believed to be the wombs of the mountain gods, who also provided water either through their internal springs or via the clouds that gathered at their peaks. The darkness and seemingly infinite passageways also made them portals to the underworld.

Amatlán de Quetzalcóatl: A magical and energy-filled village.

A few minutes from Tepoztlán, there is a natural paradise, surrounded by mountains, it is Amatlán, the sacred town where Quetzalcóatl was born, more than 1,500 years ago. Amatlán is one of the most magical and energetic places found in Mexico. It is a sacred place in the middle of nature, surrounded by mountains and hills that form the perfect setting to be considered a magical place. Here we will explore Dark Energy (dark meaning not seen) and the seven attributes of Dark Energy’s Power for healing of self and others.

Hidden among a thick forest is the sacred Poza of Quetzalcóatl, a mystical corner where you breathe tranquility and calm. This natural setting is the ideal place for transformation and awakening. Surrounded by nature’s elements, Amatlán is the perfect sacred place to experience the oneness of mind, body & spirit.

Retreat and immerse yourself in the magical community of Amatlán de Quetzalcoatl.  Surrounded by nature, magnificent mountains and spiritual energy you can escape your day to day stresses and rejuvenate in this beautiful and peaceful setting.

The Poza of Quetzalcóatl

Hidden among a thick forest is the sacred Poza of Quetzalcóatl, a mystical corner where you breathe tranquility and calm. The pool is formed by a natural waterfall that flows through the thickness of the forest This is the sacred pool where Ce Acatl faced his symbolic death and rebirth through submersion bathing and took on the identity and name: Topiltzin Ce Acatl Quetzalcóatl.

It is here on the morning of the full moon where you will be purified through submersion bathing in the sacred pool of Quetzalcóatl. This will prepare you for your initiation at Teotihuacán.

La Puerta de Quetzalcóatl

After bathing and purification, we will experience the mystical Gate of Quetzalcóatl, a portal to the spirit world. “Puerta de Quetzalcóatl” is a giant rock with a shape of an arch, giving it a very particular and unique appearance. The people believe that it has cosmic and mystical energy properties. In ritual, we will activate the Gateway with love and power possibly giving us a glimpse into the future as in the Spirit World, time is not linear but past, present, and future are happening simultaneously.

April 24 – April 28: Tollan (Tula) –Teotihuacán -Where One becomes a God

With awesome memories and experiences vibrating throughout our heart and mind, we leave Tepoztlán and Amatlán de Quetzalcóatl and journey to Teotihuacán: where humanity becomes one with the cosmos. On route, we will stop in the ancient city of Cholula exploring the Great Pyramid of Cholula: Tlachihualtepetl, or “handmade mountain” in Nahuatl. Cholula primarily served as a site of worship for the religion of Quetzalcoatl. Based on similar characteristics between Cholula and Teotihuacán, it has been suggested that they were sister cities. Located within the valley of Cholula are two of the most poetic and important volcanoes in Mexico, Popocatepetl (Smoking Mountain) and Iztaccíhuatl (White Woman) connected to Goddess of the New Moon: Cihuacóatl—Serpent Woman.

Early evening, we arrive at Teotihuacán known as the city of fire and water. It is here where symbolically they both blend together in what is known as burning water, a place of deification. Teotihuacán was designed to integrate human life with cosmic life force—teotl. There are many meanings of teotl such as holy, divine, or venerable. Most importantly, it means sacred energy, dark/subtle energy – lifeforce.

This City of the Gods was the birthplace of the myth and religion of Quetzalcóatl, the birthplace of the Nahuatl culture; and to call its people by their time-honored and indisputable name of Toltecs. The key to the knowledge, power, and wisdom of Teotihuacán is focused on the Pyramid of the New (Dead) Moon and  Quetzalcóatl’s Ciudadela.

Quetzalcóatl’s Temple-Pyramid is enclosed in the Ciudadela, which consists of fifteen stepped platforms surrounding an enormous sunken plaza. It sits in the east and faces the Great Compound in the west both known as the Southern Complex. Quetzalcóatl’s Temple-Pyramid and its surrounding walled precinct was the ceremonial heart of Teotihuacán.

The Avenue of the Dead (Moon) is also known as the Belly of the Serpent. The snake and the moon both share common symbolism: transformation and renewal. There is an important fact. From the Pyramid of the New Moon, the avenue gradually descends or slopes down until it terminates in front of Quetzalcóatl’s Ciudadela (Citadel)—mirroring Quetzalcóatl’s journey to the underworld, an essential journey to “birth” the new sun—the Fifth Sun.

Walking this throughway, as was done before by the Initiates of Teotihuacán, you carry out a symbolic and mythological journey of death and re-birth. For the thousands of casual tourists that tread this path, they know little of these very ancient and ageless ceremonial acts of death and re-birth.

The Path of an Initiate

Keep in mind, Teotihuacán was laid out to replicate on the earthly plane their vision of the cosmos symbolized by the quincunx—a five-fold figure. The center of the quincunx is the point where heaven and earth meet. It is also the precious jewel symbolizing the heart, the meeting-place of opposed principles where they become one.

Since the initiation needs to be done in person and at Teotihuacán, I’ll only reveal the beginning stage of initiation of an initiate as they strive to become a Quetzalcóatl—a Hombre-Dios or Mujera-Dios, a True Man or Woman, a Divine Human. It begins in the shadow of the Pyramid of the New Moon. Specifically, within the main plaza and its quincunx altar dedicated to Cihuacóatl – Divine Woman Serpent who is the goddess of the new moon (moon within the earth). Most importantly, she was the female aspect of the universal duality: Quetzalcóatl/Cihuacóatl.

The Pyramid of the New Moon and Plaza were a primary religious center. Initiate sits in the west of the Moon plaza altar and contemplates his/her death. And then….

Sunday, April 28: Aeropuerto Internacional Benito Juárez

We sadly depart Teotihuacán for Mexico City International Airport and say farewell to our City of Gods.

In 1995 Dr. Husfelt had an Otherworldly experience and encounter with the “Spirit Man of Teotihuacán.” It was twenty-nine years ago. It seems like only yesterday, as Dr. Husfelt was identified by him as Quetzalcóatl, meaning Dr. Husfelt is his avatar— the Morning Star (lord of the dawn), and nahual or co-essence of the great deity Quetzalcóatl, with a destiny… to bring back Quetzalcóatl’s religion… and to birth the Sixth Sun.

In this lifetime, the deity Quetzalcóatl and Dr. Husfelt are united at our point of similarity, the point where the god’s powers are found in a human. No one person can birth the Sixth Sun. Join us … we need your help in this grand quest to bring light to this world of darkness while birthing the Sixth Sun.

The full story of the Spirit Man is told in their memoir Tequila and Chocolate, The Adventures of the Morning Star and Soulmate

Fee: $2995 includes transportation within Mexico, daily breakfast, teachings, initiations, t-shirt, and to prepare you for the journey a copy of Dr. Husfelt’s latest book: Return of Quetzalcóatl – The Morning Star, The Knowledge and Wisdom of the Toltecs, Birthing the Sixth Sun.
